Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use out-of-network benefits?
Yes, in some cases, you may be able to use out-of-network insurance benefits. If appropriate, I’ll provide you with a super bill each month that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
How much will I pay for therapy using out-of-network benefits?
It depends! If you have out-of-network benefits, they typically reimburse you for 60-80% of the cost of each session. You can call the number on the back of your health insurance card listed under Member Services for further details. Questions to ask include:
Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage? Am I able to use these benefits for telehealth?
What is my out-of-network deductible? How much has been met this year?
What percentage of outpatient psychotherapy sessions are covered per session?
How much will I be reimbursed for a 60-minute psychotherapy session?
How do I submit claims and how long will it take for reimbursement?
Do you offer a sliding scale?
Yes, I keep a limited number of reserved spots for sliding-scale clients. If you’re unable to pay my rate, please don’t hesitate to contact me. If I’m full, I’m happy to provide additional referrals and resources.
How do I know if we’re a good fit?
This is what the free consultation is all about! I’ll ask what you’re looking for from therapy, and what you’re wanting in a therapist. answer any questions you have, and discuss logistics. While I encourage and welcome feedback at any time, I’ll make a point of asking you around the third or fourth session for feedback about your experience. If we feel we aren’t a good fit, I’ll be happy to help you with referrals to other services and professionals.
Can I see you for therapy if I’m located outside of Illinois?
Unfortunately, no. Due to licensure restrictions, I can currently only work with clients via therapy who are based and reside in Illinois.
